Proven Project Management

Jacobe Brothers Construction Company (JBC) was established in 1946 as a small, relationship-based family business. Now, over 75 years later they are a leading general contractor for Tyler Texas and beyond, from the Gulf Coast to the Red River, and from West Texas back home to the piney woods of East Texas. Three successful generations of handshakes, common values and trust is the foundation that sets a refreshing standard for the commercial construction industry.

Our History

1946

The late John (Jake) Jacobe grew up in Rosenberg, Texas. He served in World War II.

As Jake walked the ruins of a war-torn Europe, he often dreamed about returning home to make a difference by using his skills as a builder. Tyler, Texas seemed to be the place to make a new start. It had a lot going for it.

While much of the country was still reeling from the war-time demands, East Texas seemed to have an air of optimism; a positive outlook for the future. Jake recognized that the core values of hard work, high morals and close-knitt families were exhibited in the lives of those he encountered in Tyler.

“To my grandfather, the spoken word meant something and he concluded that it meant something to the people of East Texas, and as a result, he started his Tyler business in 1946,”
– Bryan Jacobe, third generation Jacobe.

His Grandfather John capitalized on the relationships he formed with local business owners and began his fledgling construction company by helping his friends with their construction projects as they geared up for the post- war economic boom that was ramping up in East Texas.

“To my grandfather, it was the development of these relationships that he treasured the most, far above the bottom line.”

Jake was a hard-working, high-moral, high family values type of man. He had a vision to start a business that was built on those values. And that was the orientation for what would become Jacobe Brothers Construction.

Ken Jacobe (John’s son)

John’s son, Ken, grew up working in the business and then later left home to serve in the United States Navy.

After completing his service in the military, Ken returned home, went to college, married, and re-joined his father in the family construction business.

The company, as well as Ken’s family, began to grow.

Philanthropy

Giving is a core value of Jacobe Brothers Construction

An area of the world that is very close to our hearts is the country of Haiti.  Bryans father, Ken Jacobe, began visiting Haiti in the 1970s. After the 2010 earthquake in Port au Prince, Ken ran point on a project to rebuild a multi-purpose facility in the heart of the city that includes a medical clinic, school, community center, and church that was destroyed during that devastating earthquake. JBC is very grateful by the fact that many of our subcontractors and suppliers have joined with us in our efforts to see this project become a reality. JBC appreciates the subcontractors and suppliers that join our endeavors supporting charities, national outreach and international humanitarian efforts.
